Biblical Worldview and Education

In this paper, I explore how a biblical worldview shapes education, emphasizing how faith influences both learning and character formation. Drawing on my experiences as a foster parent of refugee children, I reflect on how deeply held worldviews shape a person’s identity and values. I also examine the essential elements of a Christian worldview, faith, love, forgiveness, and living in Christ and how these principles can be integrated into teaching and educational philosophy.

Content Competency Paper

This paper explores InTASC teaching standards #4 and #5, focusing on content knowledge and its application in preparing students for college and the workforce. It includes a personal plan for professional growth and a reflection connecting these standards to biblical perspective.

Interdisciplinary Instructional Planning Project

This project involved designing a comprehensive 20‑day interdisciplinary instructional unit that integrates content standards, literacy skills, and culturally responsive practices. I created ten full lesson plans and ten horizontal block‑style plans, each incorporating developmentally appropriate strategies, assessments, and opportunities for real‑world connections. The project also emphasized differentiation, technology integration, and collaboration with families through a culminating community engagement activity. Overall, this assignment strengthened my ability to plan meaningful, standards‑aligned instruction that supports diverse learners across multiple disciplines.

Capstone Project - Izzy's Treehouse

For my capstone project, I created Izzy’s Treehouse, a website designed to support families and educators of children with hearing, vision, or combined sensory impairments. The project grew from my personal journey navigating my daughter’s diagnoses of unilateral deafness, moderate hearing loss, and later Cortical Visual Impairment, and from the strategies we learned along the way. Through this platform, I share practical tools, insights, and resources to help others better understand sensory differences and foster meaningful connection. The goal of the project is to build a compassionate, accessible space where families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
